So called accessible public toilets. How many can you find that fully comply with Building Regulations 'Approved Document M' or BS8300?
Loo's that comply
Well,we know that they are out there but we haven't found any as yet to photograph. Perhaps you can help find them for us? Why get it wrong when it is so easy to do correctly. It just take a little effort and knowledge. One or two suppliers do get it right. See below............Join our Crusade
Help us to name and shame these non compliant Loo's and praise those that do comply; if you can find any. Remember, it is usually not the fault of the building operators, or even the specifiers.
One would imagine that you could rely on and trust major sanitary ware suppliers to provide the correct products. This is not the case however. Hounslow civic centreFlush lever in wrong place. Tap in wrong position. Silly toilet roll holder and a folding grab rail which can't be used as the alarm cord is tied to it.
MacDonalds in BedfordTap in wrong place and a hand drier that would be great for drying your feet.
ASDA Ipswich.Tap in wrong position. Sanitary bin obstructs transfer. Alarm pull cord nicely tied up so you can't reach it. Toilet rolls, no paper towels and a hand drier down the other end of the room.
